Cyber-bullying would not stop

Post 1

Incidents of bullying on social media have been increased. Nowadays people are using nasty, evil words, fights through chats or posting something personal about victims. According to Khoffman (2016) research clarifies that more than 30% of teenagers have been affected by cyberbullies (para. 2). Cyber-bullying includes hate messages or bullied texts which could lead another person to suicide as well. The author also says that cyber-bullying will be hard to stop in 2030 as it is becoming a vast problem as the time elapses. She says, “once cyber-bullying is started, hackers hurting others and got a reaction and keep on doing the same thing, moreover they will continuously screenshot, repost the victims’ information which will not help to stop cyber-bullying in 2030” (Khoffman, 2016, p.4). Sometimes teens and pre-teens fall victim to cyber-bullying, they are tortured online through messages, postings. Personal relationships are also affected because of the enormous usage of social media such as communication between parents and children is decreased and they do not teach them to monitor unusual activities on their accounts. So, “children spend most of their time on social media with the supervision or observation of their phones and continuity of this will put their child in the worst situation” (Khoffman, 2016, p. 5).

  1. Hello Manpreet,
I find your post an eye-opening word and very interesting. This is the dilemma of our society that cyberbullying has become one of main concern in present day. As you mentioned in you post that people use nasty and hurtful words to degrade others, it is one of dark side of cyberbullying on social media. Where social media open for everyone to cast their opinion on the same way it provided platform to the people to bully their friends. As you discussed in your post that cyberbullying will be continue in future this prediction is very alarming. I would like to recommend you a very informative article to add in your post by offering some suggestion to avoid bulling in future. Parents can help children to avoid this harassing activity and children can ask adult support whenever they find themselves in alarming situation.
